3. The Amazing Ostrich

Ostriches are truly amazing animals that deserve our admiration and respect. They are the largest and heaviest living birds, weighing up to 330 lbs. (150 kg) and can stretch to be over 8' (2.4m) tall, are capable of reaching speeds of up to 70 km/h and covering up to 5 meters in a single stride. They are also very adaptable, living in diverse habitats across Africa and parts of Asia. They can survive in harsh conditions, such as extreme heat and drought, by regulating their body temperature and water intake. Their incredible resilience and metabolism make them one of the most efficient animals as a sustainable livestock.

Ostriches have been domesticated and farmed in South Africa since the 1820's and produce exceptional feathers, leather and a red mead - more akin to beef in terms of look, texture and taste than poultry.

Ostriches are truly amazing creatures that have many fascinating features and behaviors.

Chewing on bones is also a way for puppies to relieve some of the pain of teething. But as they get older, chewing on bones can be beneficial for their dental health.
